Biography
Paulo Dias Costa Cardiac physiologist with a solid cardiology background, developing his activity mainly in pacing and electrophysiology. His current position is Senior lecturer in clinical physiology at St George's, University of London focusing in teaching and scholarship, with special interest in the development of cardiology educational/training projects in open source environments. He has 7 yrs experience at Instituto de Cardiologia do Norte (private practice) V. N. Gaia, Portugal as Cardiac Physiologist. He has served to Centro Hospitalar do Porto - Hospital de Santo António for around with around 10yrs experience in field involving CRM devices (implant assisting and follow-up), electrophysiology (mapping, diagnosis, and ablation), autonomic function study (tilt testing), ambulatory electrocardiohgraphy reporting, undergraduate clinical supervision, graduate supervision, clinical research. From Aug 2002 – Dec 2010 he carried out his private practice at Ordem do Carmo which involved main activities -ambulatory electrocardiography reporting, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring reporting.
